6.14.2001 - Blizzard announces unbelievably good things

On the Battle.net website today there were extremely good headlines. I don't believe about half of the crap that Blizzard says these days, but if Blizzard is actually telling the truth this time, they will be about 73.42% redeemed in my eyes. They claim to have increased the US realms' capacity by over 50%, increased the bandwidth, and will be tripling Europe's capacity and adding another Asia realm: Asia3. Now those are some seriously nice things for Blizzard to say, and it would be even nicer if they were true!

But that is yet to be seen, of course. Ideally, with the increases in bandwidth and capacity across the board, I may be enticed into actually playing more than once every few weeks again. I might even be able to... <...drumroll...> play a non-hostile game with some Koreans! (OH MY!) But they are more fun to kill than Diablo, anyway...

6.11.2001 - Adding Contact Page

A Contact Page has been added to the KPK Inc website. The link will always be on the front page. If ever you need to get in touch with one of us via email, we will be listed there.

If you want to be listed on the contact page, please drop me a note or leave a message in the forums.

6.10.2001 - Blizzard Continues to Snow Us

In case you haven't noticed, since Blizzard was acquired, a few things have changed. One such change has been their attempt to play down any BattleNet connectivity issues. Another has been falsification of patch adjustment info (1.06b is a good example). Just take a quick spin around the official Battle.net website and you will find numerous examples of them trying to keep us complacent through twisting the truth. While this may have been good business for Ford during their Wilderness AT problem, the majority of Blizzard customers are not appreciating it none too much.

6.7.2001 - Blizzard Engages in Obtuse Marketing Scheme

Go check out the entry on the Battle.net website for 6/7/2001. They claim to have been cleaning out their warehouse when they just stumbled upon a few old unsold copies of their Diablo II Collectors' Edition. Yeah right... if you needed an example of the differences between pre-acquisition Blizzard and post-acquisition Blizzard, just take a good look at that.

5.29.2001 - Bizzaar-O Battle.net behaviour

Apparently, Battle.net doesn't just suck on the weekends anymore, it sucks all of the time! We're not really sure if this has much to do with the Koreans or not (so far, it looks completely unrelated), but it is certainly annoying! There have been reports of recent item dissapearances, disconnects, drop-outs, lock-ups, server-splits, etc. and even one report that the 1.06b patch screwed a guy's computer display!

What's going on, Blizzard???

5.21.2001 - KPK Inc.: The KPK's Guide is postponed!

Due to some unexpected RL entanglements, the release of KPK Inc.: The KPK's Guide is postponed for approximately one week.

KPK Inc.: The KPK's Guide Ver 1.0 revised release date: 6.1.2001

5.19.2001 - At 00:54 all Battle.net Realms crashed

Having problems connecting recently? In the last two days, to be exact? Just look to the ver1.06b patch that was released yesterday for the reason. The 1.06b patch, while designed to protect Korean players from the "..." bug, has completely backfired and protected the 200,000+ Korean pirates instead, and on this day - the first day in Korea since the release - the whole system crashed from overload (Oddly, when it is 01:00 B.net time, it is 18:00 Seoul time, which means the beginning of the 18:00 - 02:00 internet rushhour. Funny how this crash coincided with everybody getting online in Korea...). Thanks Blizzard!!!

5.17.2001 - Blizzard releases Diablo II ver1.06b patch

The 1.06b patch is designed to eliminate the "..." bug (the letterbomb attack) which boots Korean players from games. It is the opinion of KPK Inc. that this patch will protect the pirates, alienate the legitimate players, and anger the general population that doesn't have any clue about the massive Korean piracy problem, but will feel the impact quite a bit when they can't join/create games on Battle.net beginning in a few hours.

5.12.2001 - "A Day in the Life of a Western Realm Character" Published

$h@v3Y0ur$n@+cH, while not a person with any lack of things to do, was bored and decided to give the outsiders a little peek into the mind and sad lives of our pitifully be-lagged Western Realms characters.

5.11.2001 - Blizzard announces new servers

Blizzard announced that they will be adding a few new servers to the array alreading supporting the US West, US East and Europe realms in anticipation of extra load due to the Expansion Pack.
